- Michael was born and grew up in New York City, NY. He retired from the New York City Police Department in 2012 with the rank of Police Lieutenant after 20 years of service. Michael is also a U.S Army Combat Veteran, having served 18 years in the U.S Army Reserve. After retiring from the NYPD, Michael eagerly pursued his life long passion and dream of being a professional actor. In 2014, he became a member of SAG-AFTRA after being cast as Abdul Rahman in the independent film, The Last Punch (2016) directed by Jessie Vaughn (Juwanna Mann 2002). Since then Michael has appeared as Paul in the independent film Accommodations (2018) directed by Amy Gross. Most recently he has had a co-star role in the CBS episodic television series East New York (2023) directed by Ramaa Mosley.

Michael Walker has viewed the world through a camera lens for most of his life. Michael has a strong background in lighting, portrait and commercial photography that started as a small child. He learned these skills from his father, a professional photographer owner of Cameo House Photography for over 45 years. Michael attended Newport Harbor High School, in Orange county, California. As a freshman there he purchased his first 16mm motion picture camera and started shooting game films for the local football coaches to evaluate their teams. He continued filming high school and college games as well as working in the laboratory processing film during his college education at Orange Coast Community College. He then attended The American Film Institute in Hollywood choosing cinematography as his major. After graduating from AFI, Michael worked as an assistant cameraman honing his skills by watching some of the true masters of cinematography at work. He continued working his way up through the ranks of the camera department on many notable films. Michael has lensed numerous music videos, commercials and independent feature films. Michael is married, his wife Jennifer works as an Inclusion Specialist for severely handicapped children for the Los Angeles School District. Jennifer is a Native of Cleveland, Ohio.- Michael J.
